Posted: Wed Sep 09, 2009 8:46 am Post subject: mad fast acoustic tour Request Thread |
|
|
From Char's latest e-mail newsletter:
Quote: | If you have any song requests for these shows, please post them on the message board and someone at Charlotte Team will make sure I receive them. I do attempt them all in rehearsals! If you are unable to make it to the shows and live elsewhere, still make requests, because I allow my shows to be taped and taped some more! Also, I will be playing songs from the new album...just to test them out on ya'll. You know how much I love to spoil my own surprises anyways. Heh. |
Yay! I thought I'd start a new thread, though there are requests in other threads, so that it's easier for Char Team to find and have in one place.
What do you want to hear Charlotte play on tour (and at which show)?
I'll be at the NYC and Philly shows and I would love to hear:
Lost and Found (because I've never heard this live)
Lightblinde
Under the Gravel Skies
Root
Weird Goodbye <3
Stromata (the acoustic version rocks! Yes! Play this every night!)
I Never Came
I'm also excited to hear new material, of course!
As for (never before played) covers, I still want to hear her try Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here." (Hint, hint.) _________________ correct pronunciation: leer-uh-lee

that would be great, or there is usually a link at the top of the emails to view the newsletter online ... if someone could post it or PM it to me that'd work perfectly! _________________ "music is the only religion that delivers the goods." -frank zappa. |

Just a few requests: In My Desert, Sweet Chariot and Up All Night. If someone is taping that night, please ask Charlotte to perform any of the three songs, and I'll be very happy. Thank you so much! _________________ I'm bending until I break for you

i was a huge advocate for step back at the last la show. so close! i hope you all get to hear it.
i know everyone thinks its just a cute silly song, but i really like days of the week and think its a really sad song!
i won't be at any of these shows, but you know.
i also think that judas is one of her best covers ever.

Here are my three favoritest:
Cloudbusting
Step back (I plan on singing along, though, so that's a factor )
STALKER SONG!
If she needs a challenge, I challenge her to do Ken's song "Without"...
(Of the ones listed by other folks, I definitely support Apology #1 and anything from my favoritest KaTe Bush)
EDIT: Philly is definite, NYC is a maybe. Work is keeping be busy.

There's a chance I can go to the NYC show - I won't know until it gets closer, and then there might not be tickets available, but I'm hoping something works out. Anyway, I LOVED hearing Tough at Joe's Pub in January, and I'd love to hear that again live. I also think my favorite version of Revival that I've ever heard was from my first Char concert at the Knitting Factory in 2007, and I always love Redeemed. And I would LOVE This Woman's Work. And I definitely want to hear some new songs! (I really hope I can go!) |

That's a great idea!
Since I won't be able to do any shows in the US, I'd still like to request one particular song for the upcoming tour: Sweet Things. I would love to hear an acoustic version and I'm pretty sure Charlotte could pull it off. I loved what she did to Cut The Cord and those vocals on Sweet Things are screaming for a stripped-down version.
Have fun, everyone! Can't wait for some recordings. _________________ Heaven is not enough. |
