They're supporting Radiohead here in the UK - going to see them do a warm up show Wednesday night.

They're certainly doing some the UK Radiohead slots and one or two warm up dates, but I think mostly concentrating on the second album for later in the year.

Thanks, Mike!

Been so long since we heard from them, but got this today! This is from the e-mail they sent:

Bat For Lashes - News and other such Information

An Introduction to the "Blue Dreams"

Hello fellow bat friends!
I hope this finds you all well.

Sooo, I have been away for a very long time it feels, writing many
songs, visiting the awe inspiring Joshua Tree desert, making films,
living in Brooklyn - soaking up amazing bands like Amazing
Baby, Gang Gang Dance, Brightside, Moon and Moon,
Lewis and Clarke, Caroline Weeks, Bon Iver and getting rehearsed for the
upcoming Radiohead tour: http://email.parlophone.co.uk/a/tBIRBf3AQUBzFB7RPhRBCZY1LQ8/link46
(ahhh!)

So i would like to introduce to you "The Blue Dreams", who will be my
new and very magically talented backing band!
Caroline Weeks- flute, keys, autoharp, guitar, vocals, drum
Ben Christophers- Harp, Marxophone, pianochord, synths, guitar and
phono-fiddle!
Katherine Mann (Quinta)- Violin, viola, clarinet, saw, marxophone, drum
and vocals
Alex Thomas- Drums, electronic pads, percussion and timpanis
and i will be playing piano, harpsichord, autoharp, percussion, bass and
singing.

I have brought 4 new songs in to the live set, which have been arranged
with much excitement and spontaneous need of dance routines! I am so
proud and happy about how the new ones are shaping up and cant wait to
continue recording the new album after the tour.

I hope to see some of you during June and Julyand that you have a lovely
summer.

peace out!
Natasha

So almost a totally new band - only one member (other than Natasha) remains from the previous incarnation (which I saw 5 times, I think).

They now have a live drummer rather than just percussion and that does add something. Some slight differences in arrangements, notably Priscilla, where they've tinkered with the beat that was the cornerstone of the album version - the final beat is syncopated now, worked well.

Other than that, more of the same, just slightly more layered, and even more new instruments on stage, including a saw!

The new songs aren't a radical departure, although one of them is much more beat heavy, almost dance-oriented. Hopefully they'll win over a few new fans in the Radiohead crowds.

I just hope it has that same mystical feel as "Fur and Gold", but I'm prepared to be disappointed.

Well, I saw a few of the tracks live, and Moon & Moon has been part of their live set since the first show I saw of theirs almost two years ago. I don't think it strays too far from the debut, although who knows what the studio versions sound like.

Just curious...why do you seem to be so negative with many of your posts here?

just bought the first cd 2 days ago...love it. her voice completely blends as another instrument, but then completely stands out at other times. she's like a calmer bjork.

really loving the new songs posted on the myspace page. looking forward to the new cd. i just wish there was a chicago stop on the tour. Sad
