coming to you from Chicago, IL! Charlotte played Schubas in Chicago IL and it was a great show. char mar in her element. so much fun! she reworked some of the older songs... so exciting. they sound like new songs!

so many familiar faces and even some fans seeing char for the first time. so wonderful to see. More to come when I get home!

here's the setlist:

under the gravel skies
four walls (with synthy intro goodness)
limits of our love (all is full of love outro)
science and love

stalker song
when the sun finds me
sweet chariot
starlight (Muse cover)
wild horses

encore: the dance

I love some of the new songs solely based on the titles! Defintely fitting with the aquatic/galactic/earthy theme! Can't wait for Philly to pick my copy up! And I do hope she play's Muse's "Starlight!" (Though I love hers too Very Happy)

Another crazy beyond unlikely request would be "Cardboard Ladders..."

Sounds like another beautiful show! I am hoping these shows have been recorded like past ones...?

So glad everyone who has gone has had such a wonderful time!

This show!! Four Walls! Limits with All Is Full of Love! Snowflakes! Aaaah. This was the perfect counterpart to the stripped down EIU show- I'm so glad I was able to hear the best of both worlds!

Charlotte was making us crack up all night, making jokes about how nervous she was at the EIU show and how serious it was since she was performing in front of family friends and teachers.

I loved the set lists for both the EIU and Chicago shows. Such a great mix of songs! Sweet Chariot, the Muse cover, Wild Horses (still incredible every time), The Dance... What more could you ask for? Tremble is one of my favorites from DON so I was happy it was included too.

It was fun to meet some first-timers, and of course there were lots of familiar faces! It was my first time in Chicago so it was great to finally see Schubas after hearing about it for years.

I can't wait for everyone to hear the new album! Get pumped!! Smile

I'm watching this on Youtube. I've heard piano renditions by amateurs of this song, but Char really captures the spirit of it.

Anyways the combination of Char + Muse is almost too good to be true! The next logical step is a collab(I can dream right)...

Working on polishing up Jules' recording for Archive.org, and I've gotten as far as Tremble. What is it with that song? It chokes me up every time...

Love that song.
Love that woman.

EDIT: It's UP! Download or listen here:

https://archive.org/details/cmartin2014-01-20

EDIT 2: Note, the set list above was slightly out of order according to Jules' recording: Should be Battle Cry, Four Walls, Under the Gravel Skies, Limits...
