So, I thought this would be an interesting poll. Char is obviously first and foremost a touring artist. Most people on the boards have been able to see her at least once, and many lucky bastards and betches [not bitter at all, ] have been able to see her many times. So I'm just interested to see what everyone's favorite tour was.
I know this will be hard, because all of her tours are amazing, and they are all amazing for different reasons. My choice is "Everyone's Favorite Opener" Tour. I saw her open for Matt Nathanson in the fall of 2004, and even though it was a short set, it was a great setlist, and it meant the most to me because it was my first Char concert, and because during Madman, I was singing all the words, and she looked at me, and I looked at her, and we had a magical moment and it was amazing.
In close second for me (and feel free to discuss all your fave tours and why), is the SLADVD tour, which was my second show. I loved this tour because of her energy. She was just starting to incorporate keyboards into her act, and she stood up a lot, and I remember Veins was particularly passionate and amazing. Oh and I loved when she did Raven & Talk to Strangers together during this tour.
In third for me, even though I never went to any shows, is the Mad Fast Acoustic Tour, because I loved all the arrangements of the old songs [dirty river version!] AND all the new songs. Mostly the new songs. They are so well-written, in my opinion her most well-written songs (lyrically and musically) of her career.
All of her tours have been amazing. Even though I haven't been to all of them, I've heard them all on Archive and YouTube and various other places. Man I LOVE that she allows taping. That is honesty one of the best things about Charlotte... because it shows that she cares about all her fans who can't make it to shows and those that are overseas. |

| Is there a list somewhere about all the artists Char has opened for, or the artists who opened for her? |

im sure folks have different reasons for their choice of favorite char tour...this is a hard question.
if i had to pick one it would be Stromata. new album of so many songs i love. is it my favorite char album? i'd say yes. so you have all these new songs being played for the first time. char has her keyboards and fern on drums. the shows sounded amazing. i got to travel with my friends to see her live nite after nite. there was nothing better than that.
i'll say my other close favorites are darkest hour, something like a dvd (SLADVD), and veins. that's when i personally started to tour more...i knew that's what i wanted to do. whether i was with friends on tour or just going to a show myself, i knew i wanted to do more shows, to see what she would do next. no question. and my friends and i had a BLAST on the road touring for char. those are lifelong friendships. and it was all for char mar! on these tours, she had, as you said, started to incorporate more keyboards. i LOVE the virus and what she did with the looping on songs on the SLADVD tour. those beats were incredible. i still listen to those recordings to this day.
i cannot wait for the next char tour, whenever that will be...i have no doubt charlotte will take all of the above to the next level. _________________ ...jules...

How about a "02/03 when she pretty much only played in LA" option _________________ My Recordings Page: www.crazy-easy.net |
